RECIPE: Extra Sauces and Gravies- Hummus Dip

Let's be real, Hummus is everyone's favourite warm up, snack or accompaniment. You can have it warm, cold, flavoured or the OG way and it will never let you down. The perfect "extra sauce and gravy." ✨



This is one of my all time favourite things to constantly have ready in the fridge. It's so easy to make and goes with almost anything. The greatest part about it is its easy versatility.You can quickly change up the flavour and, to an extent, the texture by adding different vegetables. 🍅🍆🫑🧄🍠🌶️


In the above case, I chose capsicum because I'm a big fan but really you can add almost anything to change it up- beetroot, pumpkin, sweet potato, sun dried tomato- the world is your oyster. 🦪


If you have particular preferences, you can manage the strength of the flavour and the consistency with how much of the vegetables you add, the amount of lemon juice and water or the amount of chickpeas you add.


The most important thing though is that it can support the need for "extra sauces and gravies" in a fun, tasty and versatile way!


Hummus


INGREDIENTS

1 tin chickpeas

4 tablespoons bean juice

3 cloves garlic

2 tablespoon olive oil

3 tablespoons tahini

4 tablespoons lemon juice

Salt to taste

Pinch of Cayenne pepper

+/- 2x jarred roasted capsicums OR a vegetable or two of your choosing


METHOD

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.


I know, easy right?! 😎


Serve with a garnish of spice or herbs of your choosing, in a bowl, on the side or be a little audacious and dollop straight on top! ✨
